Today we will look at the tutorial showing how to draw a rabbit. Hope you will find this tutorial interesting and useful.
Step 1. Draw the ovals representing the rabbit's head, body, and back.
First, draw three overlapping ovals to represent the rabbit's head, body, and back. Then draw criss-cross guides on the head, with each line following the natural curves of the animal's face.
Step 2. Draw the rabbit's details: ears, legs, eyes, and nose.
In this step, refine the outline of the whole body based on the original ovals. Add ears, front and rear legs. Using the guidelines, place the eyes and nose.
Step 3. Add fur lines, whiskers, and shading to the rabbit drawing.
Add light texture lines to mimic the rabbit's fur, using a slightly jagged line of varying thickness that looks more natural. At this stage, also connect the jagged lines of strokes with rows of short strokes. Detailing the rabbit's eye and whiskers, as well as the subtle shadows on the underside of the rabbit's body and inside the ear.
Step 4. Coloring the rabbit fur.
Using a feather pencil dipped in graphite dust, apply a dark tone to the rabbit's fur. This creates soft transitions of shades and conveys a smooth texture that matches the velvety fur of this animal very precisely.
You can finish the drawing by "pinning the rabbit to the ground" with a shadow cast by him, created by long, dark strokes made on the side of the pencil lead.
