Today, in our drawing lesson, we will be drawing a cute little kitten with a pencil, step by step.
Step 1. Outline the kitten's head, eyes, and nose.
We need to decide on the direction of the head, so we draw a circle and guides showing the middle of the head and the location of the eyes. We divide each half of the straight line (where the eyes should be located) into three parts. Another small straight line on the central line outlines the location of the nose.
Step 2. Draw the kitten's eyes, nose, and mouth.
Next, draw the closed eyes with curves, then the nose, muzzle, and mouth.
Step 3. Draw the shape of the kitten's head.
Draw the shape of the kitten's head, adding ears and the fur on the cheeks.
Step 4. Draw the kitten's body.
Draw the kitten's body. I start drawing the back, then the location of the paw under the kitten's head, tail, and thigh.
Step 5. Detail the kitten's fur.
Now erase the contours and make an imitation of fur with short lines of different lengths and directions. Apply shadows on and around the nose, and a little around the eyes.
Step 6. Add shading to the kitten's drawing and dark spots on its fur.
Start from the area near the head (we'll deal with the head itself later). The shadow is on the paw and on the body; do the shading and shade. There are transitions. You can additionally apply hatching to create darker areas, and for light ones, use the eraser. If needed, take an eraser and erase where there should be a light area.
